I started this site (January 1998) and as yet have recorded, now including National Cemeteries,(-25,988-) names. They will be listed in alphabetical order, last name first in the following table. I have used the following codes to designate special circumstances:
** means that the man also has records listed using a different
name spelling
(M) means that the stone is a memorial and the man is buried
elsewhere
(P) means that the Cemetery is Private
(M.O.H.)
means that the man is a Medal of honor Recipient
In addition to listing on my website, all of the information sent to us on graves of Civil War Veterans is forwarded to Richard Danes, SUVMIDGRO@aol.com, Graves Registration Officer, Sons of Union Veterans, Graves Registration Project
Unfortunately the lack of web space and the many veterans of the Civil War permit me to list only those men who served in Michigan Regiments or whose records appear in the "Official records of Michigan Soldiers and Sailors in the Civil War"
